Our Developmental Stroke School bridges the gap between swim lessons and competitive swimming. The program employs the station method of teaching so that learning new water skills and stroke instruction is accomplished in the most effective manner possible.
At each station the fundamental elements of swimming are organized into teaching units with advancement criteria which provide the student with clear tests of his/her abilities. Our School picks up where lessons end - teaching not only safety skills, body alignment and freestyle skills.
We focus on improving each swimmer's stroke technique and seek to introduce all four competitive strokes. For more advanced students, our program can serve as a supplement to summer league swimming programs and can accommodate swimmers wanting to learn more advanced competitive skills.
Under the guidance of a professional coach, more advanced students learn and develop the four competitive strokes, racing starts, and turns. Each skill necessary to swim FAST at the high school and summer league levels will be emphasized.
As the program progresses, swimmers will be evaluated as to their potential to swim year round with the Nu Wave Swim Club.
Open to swimmers ages 5 & over who can swim 15 yards unassisted.
